A single day arrives and your Transit is a short wheelbase model that's not going to fit actually half your belongings in buying it. Didn't the rental male know you meant one of those really big ones? Or maybe it is big - one of those big ones with the box within the back, known as a Luton van.
They certainly have many room, but if your Luton doesn't use a tail lift, be prepared for a number of awkward heavy lifting - there're a lot higher up and running than a panel lorrie.
Vans may not always be the most exciting vehicles in the entire world, but they sure as hell are many of the most useful vehicles all around. You can drive vast majority them on a automobile license, they are pretty easy to handle, don't use much more fuel than the usual car and can have got anything from moderate in order to colossal amounts of room inside.
You just need to know what you need -- SWB, LWB, Luton or even something else?
I've been near the block where vans are concerned - from my 1st rental experiences where Used to do exactly what I described above and requested a Transit-sized van -- to my present position, where I own a and have driven a great many.
Incidentally, the last time WE moved house the truck I hired was written there are various day before my reservation, so I ended up which includes a slightly smaller one. The exact result was an extra 250-mile circle trip, as the load space was a metre shortest and I couldn't fit everything in... |
